  • The fund manager believes that Asian equity markets are structurally inefficient, and seeks to add value through in-depth fundamental research, a disciplined focus on valuations, and an understanding of what is "priced in" by the market. The fund is growth oriented over the medium to long term.
  • The fund tracks the MSCI Korea Index as a performance comparator and is benchmark-aware, with risk controls including a single stock position capped at 5% relative to the benchmark.
  • The fund has no specific market capitalisation or sector bias, with stock selection driven by a fundamental, bottom-up approach complemented by a macro thematic overlay.
  • As of 31 March 2026, the fund's two largest sectoral exposures were Technology and Industrials, consistent with the fund's benchmark-aware approach.
  • Looking ahead, the fund manager remains positive on the memory chip shortage expected to persist until 2030, South Korea's stock market "value-up" reforms, the defence industry as a beneficiary of geopolitical risk, and the rapidly growing entertainment, beauty and tourism industries fuelled by the global spread of K-pop culture.

About the Fund Managers

The fund is managed by Kim Chang Seok, who has managed the fund for 7 years, supported by an 18-member investment and research team based in Singapore. The manager believes that Asian equity markets are structurally inefficient, and this inefficiency provides the opportunity to add value through a disciplined investment process.

The approach emphasises consistent long-term returns achieved through in-depth fundamental research, a disciplined focus on valuations, and an understanding of what is already priced in by the market, together with identification of the key catalysts likely to influence individual stock performance. The strategy is growth-oriented, adopting a fundamental, bottom-up approach to stock selection complemented by a macro thematic overlay.
