Action Required: Verify Your Contact Details Before Upcoming Login Changes
To enhance account security, FSM is updating its login verification process. Starting 11 August 2026,
1. Logging into your FSM Account will require a dual-verification code sent via both SMS and Email or FSM Digital Token
2. Registering your Digital Token will require a dual-verification code sent via both SMS and Email.
Please take a moment to verify that your registered mobile number and email address on FSM are accurate. Keeping these details updated ensures a smooth setup when the changes arrive on 11 August 2026.
How to do so:
1. Go to "Account Settings"
2. Scroll down to "Contact & 2FA"
3. Ensure that Email and Mobile Numbers are up-to-date
Important Changes to Your FSM Account Login: Why Everyone Should Use Digital Token
To keep your account safer and more secure, we are enhancing our login verification process. From 01 October 2026, SMS and Email OTP will no longer be available as login verification methods. Going forward, all FSM Global users will be required to use the Digital Token for account login.
Why Digital Token?
The Digital Token offers stronger protection for your account compared to SMS and Email OTP. Here's why:
- Reduced exposure to interception risks. SMS OTPs can be vulnerable to SIM-swap fraud, where scammers hijack your mobile number to receive your one-time passwords. Email OTPs carry similar risks if your email account is compromised through phishing or weak passwords.
- No dependence on network or email delivery. SMS OTPs can be delayed or fail to arrive due to network issues, while the Digital Token generates codes directly on your device, working even without mobile signal or internet access at the point of login.
- Device-bound security. The Digital Token is tied to your registered device, adding a layer of protection that's harder for bad actors to bypass remotely, unlike OTPs sent to a phone number or inbox that could potentially be redirected.
- Aligned with industry best practices. Many financial institutions are moving away from SMS and Email OTP toward app-based authentication, as regulators and security experts increasingly flag OTP-based methods as a weaker link in account protection.
What You Need to Do
If you have not yet registered for the Digital Token, please do so before 01 October 2026 to avoid any disruption to your account access. If you have already set up your digital token, no further action is required from you.
